What to expect from talking therapy

It can be hard and overwhelming to open up and talk to someone. Friends and family often mean well, and offer as much support as they can, but can tend to offer opinions or solutions.

Talking therapy with a trained professional is very different. The relationship is based on a contract between you and your therapist, is confidential, non-judgemental and, at its heart, is seeking to offer you empowerment to gain your own resolution.

I have found, over the years of practicing hypnotherapy and NLP, that sometimes my clients just want to talk - and/or to simply be heard.

In a talking session, I don’t give advice or tell you what you should/shouldn’t do. We talk through your thoughts together and reflect on them. We may look at alternative ways of thinking or different perspectives. We’ll recognise and validate tough situations and behaviours and consider the impact on you as an individual. We look towards the future and I help you find your own alternative ways of processing thoughts/behaviours in a way that works for you. It is relaxed and we go at your pace.

Often I work with my clients and we use a mix of hypnotherapy, sound healing and talking therapy, which can be extremely powerful in gaining positive results.
